List of Most Runs Conceded in BBL History

The following is the list of the most expensive bowling spells in the history of BBL cricket:

Liam Guthrie – 70/2

Liam Guthrie, a left-arm quick bowler, went all around the park when the Brisbane Heat took on the Melbourne Stars on 27th December, 2021. He bowled the most expensive spell in the history of the BBL, conceding 70 runs in just four overs.

To Liam Guthrie’s credit, he picked up two wickets, but that did not stop the Melbourne Stars from posting 207 runs. The Brisbane Heat could only manage 187 runs, losing the match by 20 runs.

Kane Richardson – 63/0

Kane Richardson, a right-arm quick bowler, had a bad day at the office when the Melbourne Renegades took on the Hobart Hurricanes on the 29th December, 2021.

In reply, the Melbourne Renegades almost chased down the target, reaching 202 runs and falling short by just 10 runs. Andrew Tye got a proper beating from the Melbourne Renegades batters, conceding 63 runs in just four overs.

Kane Richardson – 62/1

Kane Richardson was nowhere near his best when the Melbourne Renegades took on the Adelaide Strikers on 10th January, 2023. Batting first, the Adelaide Strikers scored 202 runs, as Chris Lynn smashed a quick-fire 69* runs in just 37 balls. What helped the Adelaide Strikers was one of the most expensive bowling spells in the BBL by Kane Richardson, who conceded 62 runs in four overs.

The Melbourne Renegades fell short by 20 runs as the batters were not able to get the job done.

Ben Dwarshuis – 61/0

Ben Dwarshuis, a left-arm quick and swing bowler, was not spared when the Sydney Sixers took on the Melbourne Stars on 12th January, 2020. The Melbourne Stars openers, especially Marcus Stoinis, were in a destructive mood as they thrashed the Sydney Sixers bowling attack to post 219 runs on the board. Ben Dwarshuis was at the receiving end of the carnage, conceding 61 runs in just four overs.

Eventually Sydney Sixers lost the match by 44 runs, as the batters could not get the team over the line.
